Hepatitis A occurs frequently in Mexico

The states with the highest number of reported cases of Hepatitis A are Yucatan (1,015 cases) and Guanajuato (847 cases). Travellers are reminded that hepatitis A is found throughout the world. Hepatitis A can be prevented through vaccination. When there is a risk of exposure to hepatitis A virus, travellers can reduce this risk by obtaining the vaccine prior to travelling and by exercising caution and avoiding consuming contaminated food and water.
