Advice For Travellers

Both hepatitis A and hepatitis E are transmitted by consumption of water that has been contaminated with sewage. Since it appears that the municipal water supply has been contaminated in the area of the outbreak, travellers can minimize the risk of exposure by avoiding consumption of municipal water. Travellers should drink only commercial bottled water.
