Hong Kong: Fresh Wave of Protests Planned for 17-28 January

A fresh wave of protests is scheduled for 17-28 January in Hong Kong. Additionally, several Lunar New Year fairs are also getting organized in several areas of Hong Kong. Unconfirmed reports indicate that anti-government demonstration protests are likely to take place at these fairs too. Details of some of these planned protests and Lunar New Year fairs are as follows:

  • 17 January:

  • Tai Po Secondary School Students Rally at Amphitheatre, Tai Po Waterfront Park at 18:00-21:00 (local time)

  • Shek Yam, Opposite to North Kwai Chung (Shek Yam) Market Bus Stop, Kwai Chung at 19:00-23:30

  • Sha Tin, Staircase of the Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza at 19:00-23:00

  • Talentum Bookshop, Kam Fai Building, Yau Ma Tei at 19:00-23:00

  • Running from Hung Hom Promenade to Hong Kong Clock Tower at 21:00-23:00
