Huge increase in reported malaria cases in state of Sucre, Venezuela

So far this year, there have been almost 1,400 cases of malaria compared to only 8 cases in the same time period last year. Many of the cases were infected with the severe strain of malaria called falciparum which had been eliminated from this area in the past.
