Human cases of West Nile Fever beginning to increase in USA

Although mosquitoes infected with the West Nile Fever virus have been reported from many jurisdictions in the US, human cases of this infection have been reported only by California, Mississippi, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. So far there have been 10 cases and 1 death. Since there is no vaccine or treatment for West Nile fever, travellers to areas where this virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
