Imminent water shortage in New Delhi due to protests

At least 10 people have been killed and 150 injured in protests by the Jat community that is supporting a caste-based quota systems for jobs in Haryana State. In addition, the protesters closed and damaged the Munak canal gates. The canal supplies a significant portion of the water supply for the entire city. Officials announced water rations across the city.
