Increased polio in Pakistan

So far this year, health authorities have detected a total of 37 cases of polio, more than double the number of cases detected in all of 2010. A vaccination campaign is underway to reach 33 million children and curtail any further spread of the disease.

Travellers should be aware of the increased risk of exposure to polio and ensure that their childhood vaccinations are up-to-date.
