Increasing risk of malaria in India

With the onset of the monsoon season, there has been a corresponding increase in malaria cases in India. Health authorities in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area have reported a total of 73 malaria cases in May and June of this year.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the increasing risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
