Industrial action in Australia expected to cause many delays at airports across Australia Monday morning

Hundreds of immigration and border protection employees plan to walk off the job in mass strikes at Australia's seven international airports and sea ports, starting from the Monday morning peak period (August 6) with a series of rolling four-hour stoppages. Airports at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, Darwin, Perth and Adelaide airports are all likely to be affected.

Advice For Travellers

International travellers can expect delays with the major impact at peak time on Monday morning. Domestic services will not be affected at this time. Those travelling in or out of Australia should allow at least three hours before departure to check in and clear customs and immigration.
