ISIL claims responsibility for killing Italian citizen in Dhaka, Bangladesh

The ISIL has claimed responsibility for shooting and killing an Italian man who was jogging in Dhaka. He had been living alone in Dhaka since May, working on food security for a Netherlands-based church cooperative. This shooting occurred on Road 90 of the Gulshan diplomatic zone in Dhaka.

Many international schools and expatriate clubs will be closed today as a precaution. Several countries have warned citizens to be highly vigilant and aware of their surroundings, be extremely cautious in public places, particularly places frequented by foreigners. Limit movement in public places if possible. According to reports, there has been credible intelligence information that militants could target Australian interests in Bangladesh.
