Island-Wide Power Outage in Puerto Rico

An island-wide power outage occurred in Puerto Rico today after a contractor apparently caused the blackout. Reports indicate that power has been restored in at least seven municipalities and five hospitals.

According to the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, it could take as long as 36 hours to restore electricity to the entire island.
