Health authorities have reported 2 deaths and 12 people hospitalized with Japanese Encephalitis (JE).

Travellers to this area in northern India should be aware of the risk of exposure to JE and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Vaccination against JE should be considered.
