Kenya closes borders to travellers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone

Kenya has joined other countries in closing its borders to travellers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone due to the ebola outbreak. Kenya Airways is also suspending flights to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. This restriction does not apply to health care workers or Kenyan citizens although they will be thoroughly screened.

The travel ban comes into effect on Wednesday.

The World Health Organization has not yet recommended any restrictions on travel except for people with ebola or contacts with ebola patients.
