Large demonstration in Brussels, Belgium, on November 9, 2016

In Brussels on November 9, there will be a large demonstration which will gather at Cinquantenaire Park beginning 10:00 am. Demonstrators will start at 11:45 am at the Petite Rue de la Loi and continue as follows:

  • Rond point Schuman (completely)
  • Rue Froissart
  • Rue Belliard
  • Chaussée d'Etterbeek
  • Rue Jacques de Lalaing
  • Rue de la Science
  • Rue Belliard
  • Avenue d'Auderghem
  • Avenue de la Joyeuse Entrée

This entire route will be closed to traffic. The Reyers Tunnel will be closed beginning at 11:00 am. Parking is banned at the Avenue de la Renaissance, Avenue des Nerviens and some parts of the Avenue de Tervuren.

Advice For Travellers

Expect heavy traffic congestion, particularly in the European quarter and at the small ring road. The Brussels police ask that people avoid travelling by car and use public transport as much as possible. Bus transportation could be affected by this demonstration. Major roads may close earlier. Departure of the demonstration could occur earlier.
