Large food poisoning outbreak in Philippines

A large outbreak of food poisoning involving almost 2,000 persons in Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Agusan del Sur has been associated with the consumption of durian and mangosteen candies distributed by unknown street vendors. The toxic agent or organism in the candies is still under investigation.
