Large number of malaria cases reported in Zimbabwe in first 3 weeks of this year

There have been at least 10,000 reported cases of malaria throughout Zimbabwe since the beginning of 2013, even before the usual February through March malaria season. Four deaths have been recorded. Travellers to Zimbabwe can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
