Large outbreak of gastrointestinal illness in Makhachkala, Dagestan

An outbreak of gastrointestinal illness has been reported by authorities in Makhachkala where 108 people, including 72 children have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported. An investigation is underway to determine the cause, but contamination of the city's water supply is suspected.
