Leishmaniasis - increasing number of cases in Panama

Health authorities are increasing their efforts to control the spread of leishmaniasis in Panama. Although the total number of cases reported so far in 2012 is not reported, there are increasing numbers of cases diagnosed throughout the country.

Travellers to Panama can reduce their risk of exposure to leishmaniasis by taking all necessary precautions to avoid sand fly bites.
