Leishmaniasis occurs in many parts of Colombia

There have been almost 5,000 cases of leishmaniasis this year, mostly the cutaneous (skin) type. Most of the cases were reported by 7 departments: Antioquia, Meta, Tolima, Santander, Narino, Choco, Guaviare and Norte de Santander.
