Magnitude 6.5 earthquake in Costa Rica Monday evening

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred in Costa Rica last Monday evening, 12 miles from Puntarenas Province and was felt most severely in the districts of Quepos, Parrita and Garabito. At least one building in Jacó was evacuated due to damage. There were reports of minor damage in other areas of the country. Hospitals are reported to be functioning normally. Any power outages have been resolved.
