Magnitude 6.6 earthquake near Norcia, Italy

Another strong earthquake, magnitude 6.6, near Norcia in central Italy destroyed many buildings early this morning. There are recent reports of an unknown number of injured persons.

This earthquake follows the devastating earthquake in August in central Italy, as well as tremors and two earthquakes, magnitude 5.5 and 6.1, over the past week. There are road closures and extensive damage from these earthquakes. If travelling in central Italy, follow the advice of local authorities.
