Main public hospital in Harare, Zimbabwe, halts elective surgeries

Due to the chronic economic crisis in the country, the Harare Central Hospital has suspended all elective surgeries due to a lack of essential supplies including pain medications such as morphine. Only life-threatening and maternity cases will receive surgery, if required.

Advice For Travellers

Travellers who require urgent care should consider consulting private hospitals where surgical capacities may be less affected.
