Major bomb blasts in Mumbai, India

Three coordinated bomb blasts in the Opera House area, at the Zaveri Bazaart and in Dadar, which is a crowded street with Muslim and Hindu shops, have killed at least 17 and wounded many more. The attack took place during the evening rush hour.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.

While this is the first major attack in Mumbai since 2008, travellers to Mumbai should be aware that unexpected terrorist attacks may occur around financial centres. Travellers should exercise caution in such areas.
