Major disruption in European air travel March 20, due to striking air traffic controllers

Tomorrow, March 20, 2015, strikes are occurring across Europe to protest the restructuring of air traffic control across European airspace. Travellers in Europe can expect air travel delays and cancellations due to the Lufthansa pilots’ strike, a nationwide strike by Italian air traffic controllers, and air traffic controllers in France who will strike for 12 hours tomorrow. Air traffic controllers in Portugal and Greece could take further action. A 24-hour general strike by workers in Spain is expected to also severely disrupt flights to and from Spain.
