Major outbreak of gastroenteritis in Izmail district, Odessa region, Ukraine

Contaminated water supplies are being blamed for a large outbreak of gastroenteritis (diarrhoea) involving at least 757 people (including 439 children). Of these, 119 people (including 89 children) remain hospitalized. The specific pathogen (germ) causing the infections is not identified in this report.
