Major protest in Katmandu, Nepal

Protesters threw bricks and stones and police responded with tear gas and water canons during a protest by about 35,000 opposition supporters in Tudikhel grounds in Katmandu. A controversial plans to vote on a disputed new national constitution was the objective of the demonstration. There are reports of 24 civilians and 4 police officers injured in the clashes.
