Major suicide attack in Yemen leaves many dead

Two mosques, the Badr and al-Hashoosh mosques, in Sana'a were attacked by suicide bombers. Two bombs were detonated at the Badr mosque during Friday prayers, and one at the other mosque. A total of 137 people were killed and 345 injured. Although the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has claimed responsibility, it is more likely the work of either al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) or anti-Houthi fighters.

Due to continuing lack of political stability and armed conflict, all travel to Yemen should be avoided.
