Major transportation disruptions in Belgium due to strike

Today in Belgium, a strike against the government’s austerity measures has disrupted public transportation, including air flights.

In Brussels, all public transport has halted. High-speed trains to France, the Netherlands and Germany has been suspended. The Eurostar between Brussels and London was suspended. Forty-four percent of departing flights were cancelled at Brussels International Airport. No trains ran in Brussels or neighbouring provinces of Flemish Brabant and Brabant Wallon. In Brabant Wallon, no buses ran and in Flemish Brabant, very few buses were running.
