Malaria - Angola has large number of malaria cases after heavy rains favor mosquito breeding

For the first 3 months of 2012, health officials have registered at least 90,545 cases of malaria. The most affected areas include: Rangel, Sambizanga, Maianga, Kilamba Kiaxi, Samba and Ingombota.

Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
