Malaria at high levels in Rushuru Region, North Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo

There are reports that up to 3,000 patients with malaria are being treated in the Rutshuru Region every week. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
