Malaria cases decline in Rwanda

Although malaria cases this year have declined compared to last year (from 2,456,091 last year to 1,353,861 cases this year), health authorities are warning the public that malaria infections may increase with the coming rainy season.

Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
