Malaria cases in Karnataka State, India, are concentrated in 2 municipalities

Health authorities report that 85 percent of teh malaria cases reported in Karnataka occur in the two urban centres of Mangalore and Udupi. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
