Malaria cases increase significantly in Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, India

The number of reported malaria cases in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has increased by 30 percent this year. Over 2,200 malaria cases and 17 deaths have been reported in the district through July. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
