Malaria cases increase with monsoons in Candolim, Goa, India

Since the onset of the monsoon season, the Candolim primary health centre has recorded 201 cases of malaria in June and July. This total is twice the number for the same time period last year. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
