Malaria cases increasing in some districts of Madhya Pradesh State, India

Three districts (Indore, Khargone and Burhanpur) are reporting increases in malaria cases. There has been an 8 percent increase in Indore while Khargone has reported 2,228 cases this year. Burhanpur has recorded 627 cases. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
