Malaria cases reported in Karnataka State, India

So far in 2012, 530 cases of malaria have been reported in Karnataka State. The most affected areas in June included: Udupi, Hiriyadka, Hirebettu, Manipura, Moodabettu, and Malpe.

Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
