Malaria in Córdoba, Colombia, is second only to dengue fever

Although malaria cases have been reduced by almost 25 percent, there have still been 891 cases reported so far this year. This disease is the second most common disease, next to dengue fever, that affects the local population. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
