Health authorities have reported a total of 145 cases of malaria. Local hospitals are treating 10-15 cases every week. The high risk areas for malaria exposure include Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, parts of Indira Park, Sanathnagar, Saidabad, Bholakpur, Amberpet, Uppuguda, Puranapul, Kurmaguda, Jiyaguda. The highest number of cases are being reported from Banjara Hills and Bholakpur in Musheerabad.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
