Malaria in Tripura, India, continues to increase

With more than 100,000 suspected cases of malaria and 60 deaths (42 of whom have been children), the malaria epidemic in Tripura continues to increase during the past month. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
