Malaria increases in Lubero in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo

More than 600 cases of malaria were reported in one week from May 15-22 in the health zone of Mangurejipa, in the territory of Lubero in North Kivu. Before May 15, there were half as many cases reported (300).

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
