Malaria increases in Namibia

So far this year, almost 12,000 people have been diagnosed with malaria, and at least 15 of them have died. The most affected areas include Kavango East, Kavango West, Zambezi and Ohangwena.

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
