Malaria infects thousands in Nigeria

There is extensive transmission of Malaria in Nigeria this year. The following states and localities in particular continue to report significant transmission of this virus:

  • Kaduna reports thousands of people daily
  • Sokoto has confirmed 190 infected people
  • Adamawa has more than 300,000 infected people
  • Katsina and Kano has reported malaria epidemics
  • Kogi has seen 1,687 newly infected people between January and August 2016
  • Yobe saw 70 infected people daily
  • Jigawa and Gombe have many malaria patients with little help due to lack of doctors and supplies
