Malaria is a major problem in Jomoro District, Ghana

Malaria continues to be the leading infectious disease in the Jomoro District, where a total of 24,149 cases were seen in out-patient centres between January and June this year. A total of 1,857 persons were hospitalized for extensive treatment.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the high risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
