Malaria is a major risk in Mizoram, India

In Mizoram, in 2014, out of a population of approximately 1 million people, more than 30 per cent were diagnosed with malaria last year. There were 31 deaths. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
