Malaria is a risk in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

UNICEF has reported that 32 infants died from malaria in Ikotola (Tshuapa district) in Equateur between January and February this year. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
