Malaria is increasing in Lakes State, South Sudan

The Rumbek Hospital is reporting an increase in the number of malaria cases seeking medical attention. Many of the patients are children and elderly persons. The Hospital is encountering a shortage of medical drugs, including anti-malarial medication.

Any traveller to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
