In the first 3 months of this year, there have been 720,000 registered cases of malaria, along with 2,100 deaths. The most affected areas include the capital city of Luanda, Benguela, Uíge and Bié, but many cases have also occurred in Cabinda, Namibe, Cunene and Huambo.

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
