Malaria - nearly 30,000 cases and 27 deaths reported in Cambodia for 2012

Compared to last year at this time, there has been a decrease in the number of reported cases of malaria. Nevertheless, so far in 2012, almost 30,000 cases have been reported with 27 deaths.

Travellers to Cambodia can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
