Malaria threat in South Sudan

Due to drought, war and displaced persons, malaria is spreading widely in the country. At least 2,000 people have died of malaria while swarms of mosquitoes are infecting people with malaria in massive numbers with a rise of 400 percent recorded in the past two months.

Advice For Travellers

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
