Malaria warning in Botswana

The Ministry of Health and Wellness for Botswana has issued a warning that the country is experiencing a high levels of malaria, following the recent heavy rains. Reported cases of malaria have increased in Okavango, Ngami, Chobe, Boteti, Tutume and Bobirwa.

Advice

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
